A BSO Outing

Tonight was a very exciting night for me which is why I couldn't wait till tomorrow to blog about it! My hunny and I went to see my all time fav cello player Yo-Yo Ma and conductor Juanjo Mena. It was a-m-a-z-i-n-g !!

I have been trying to find a way to go watch Yo-Yo Ma play live ever since I fell in love with his version of the prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1. This man is very talented and has the power to take me away to a different place with his music.

The first half was Yo-Yo Ma playing two of Bohemian composer Antonin Dvorak's most popular orchestral works: The New World Symphony, composed in 1893 and his Cello Concerto composed in 1895 (wow, that is umm, quiet some time ago eh??) Second half was conductor Juanjo Mena and the BSO playing the ballet score The Wooden Prince, by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok.

All in all it was the highlight of my month :o)

Keep me Moisturized !

This might be a little bit of an exaggeration but yeah lets face it Fall is H-E-R-E :o) But for me, so is really dry hands. Even if the temperature is slightly cold my hands get dry and feel like sand paper. Recently I purchased Burt’s Bees Hand Salve. I know that it is mostly for people who garden and stuff, but booooy has it been helping my hands.

What I instantly love about this was the smell. Call me crazy, but I like it. It is like an herbal scent but also reminds me of Vicks Vapor Rub. First impression was “oh no, this is too strong” but I noticed that once I rubbed it in and let a few minutes pass the smell became subtle and then barely noticeable.

The consistency of the product at first looks and feels waxy. After applying it on though it comes on so light and rich, it’s like an instant moisturizer.

Over all, I would recommend this product to anyone who like me has dry hands when the temp changes. I wouldn’t recommend if you are picky with smell or do not like the smells of herbs or Vicks vapor rub.

**This review is my own personal opinion based on my experience after purchasing and using this product at my own will. I was not paid for or approached by anyone to give this review**

Nice Saturday Weather

Assalamu Alaykum :o)

Although the weekend is almost over I must say that I am feeling happy that the weather was great. Not too cold just the right touch of fall :o)

Yesterday I went to the mosque in Quincy for my first New Muslim Class. It was just an overview of what to expect of the program but I left feeling so excited Inshallah this will be very beneficial for me.

Here is my outfit of the day <-- yesterday:

These I have to say are one of the most comfortable shoes I own. I bought these juttis from an Indian store in Cambridge, MA. I was a little worried about them because when I bought them I wasnt really thinking and then I got home and thought to myself "jeez, what do I wear these with? They are so fancy" but it has actually been super easy to pair them up with a nice Indian shirt and some skinny jeans. The design on them is so nice. Every time I wear them I get compliments.

Alhamdulillah its the weekend!

Assalamu Alaykum :o)

A midnight post, my first lol

Today wasn't any different than any other rainy day, but alas! there was one thing that I actually liked:

As I was laying on my bed earlier (browsing YouTube hehe) I heard a huge thunder and got scared. But then I was reminded that in a way it felt like in a small way Allah was reminding us he is everywhere. It was a calming thought :o)

Alhamdulillah its the weekend! Pretty excited for the weekend! Inshallah tomorrow I will go to my first "New Muslim Class" *doing a happy dance* Reason for my excitement is that I have been waiting for this class since like for ever and it is finally here. It will pretty much be a class with new converts to learn more and grown our faith in our Religion Inshallah. I realized that when I decided to convert I didn't really know a lot, even though I had been trying to learn about it for two years. I am at a point where I want to learn more to be able to strengthen my faith and be able to speak about Islam with the same certainty I feel in my heart. It does not help that I get nervous when people ask me why and then I look like I don't know anything, but Inshallah I will be able to learn a lot more.

Want to share with you all my excitement for my new class tomorrow and I will keep you all in the loop Inshallah, until then Assalamu Alaykum!

WEN I decide to take care of my hair...

Assalamu Alaykum :o)

I know that for a first time blogger I'm seriously slacking, but Inshallah I will be able to post a lot more on now that I am getting back into my groove.

This past week has been crazy busy. I moved out from my parents house and into a place of my own and well let's just say its been a roller coaster ride. But alhamdulillah I am holding on strong and Inshallah will learn from all of this.

On to today's topic!!
Have any of you heard of the shampoo called "Wen"...? I remember a few years ago I was watching infomercials and saw theirs but didn't really pay attention. Just recently a very sweet co-worker of mine - Jean :o) - admitted to me that she buys from those shopping channels lol So here we are killing time at work talking (like always) and I mention that I am currently on the hunt for everything and anything that will help me grow my hair longer, stronger and healthier when Jean mentions she had bought that Wen shampoo and that it is supposed to be really good for healthy hair and for people who are allergic to almost everything, a.k.a. ME. So she brought it in and oh-em-geeh is it awesome! Let me just say when she told me that this shampoo does not make your hair soapy I was all like :o( but after I tried it it was just so good for my hair.

Before shower

The actual bottles
The directions themselves say "Rinse hair thoroughly, then apply 20-30+ pumps..." I bit excessive for me since I have medium hair, so I use like 10 maybe 12 pumps.
See how think it is?!?
The consistency of the shampoo is very thick, like a conditioner but with your hair wet it can really spread

This is right after my shower. So shiny :o)
Over all I like the results but I will keep using it so that I can see just how good this is! I also use a little bit after the shower as a leave in conditioner. I was also skeptical about that because I haven't had particularly good experiences with leave in conditioners but this one I couldn't even tell I had it on and when I did my hair the next day I loved how it looked and felt.

I will be posting a blog later of next day hair after using this product over night to show how great it looks...until then Assalamu Alaykum!

My First Blog EVER!!

Assalamu Alaykum :o)

I hope everyone is having a good week. Hurray for Friday! So this is the first blog I ever have anything to do with. I guess you could say I have read so many that it got to a point where I thought to myself "Hey, I could do that too!" and soooo here I am!

I will mostly be on here to vent about life situations, comment about current events and might throw some of my favorite stuff on here like make-up, shopping, DIY projects and fun things that make me smile like music and writting :o)
Eid 2011

To let you all know a little bit about me:

I am a 22 year old research analyst living and working in Boston. I recently reverted to Islam and I couldnt be happier. I have been through some up's and down's but at the end of the day I thank Allah for allowing me to go through the struggles I go through because I know that 1) He would not give me anything He doesnt believe I cant handle and 2) Inshallah after all my struggle I will be a stronger, smarter and happier person.

Well, that is enough about me for now :o)

Inshallah I can use this blog to express myself and entertain you all.
